“Well 2016 sure was a year of disappointments huh? Here’s hoping 2017 will be better, less convulsions and more awesome…”

Shalom moviegoers. Yours truly here, Matt Gives You His Review that is, and welcome to a new year and a new year of movies. Not gonna sugar-coat it, 2016 was such a disappointment in its movies aye? Don’t get me wrong, there were a few standouts, a few likeable ones and some damn near impressive, a shame these ones had to share a year with letdowns, some uninspiring and others just assault on the senses. You’d think Hollywood would learn from their mistakes of yesteryear, maybe this year will be THE year (doubtful). Well as I hope Hollywood gets its act together a little better this year, the same I plan to make on myself. I struggled last year folks delivering reviews, especially when it came to on time. So much so you may have noticed ive fallen behind and are now playing the hard slog of catch-up (fun fun right?). Im pushing to finish what ive set out to and vow to better get with it this year ahead, especially seeing how I have some major changes happening in my life that I will be experiencing/undertaking this year too (all exciting & new I promise). So with this said, please do enjoy the year of 2017 and the movies it has to offer, some of which being ‘Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi’, ‘Wonder Woman’ & ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2’ to name a few. Movie Reviews: 2013

“So we survived the year 2012. Good thing too, cause movies were starting to get awesome again, starting now…”

So as you can tell due to the obvious that there isn’t a lot of movie reviews here for this year in particular. Why is that? Did I only see 8 movies that year? Well I know that’s not true for a fact, for I saw ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’, ‘Man Of Steel’, ‘Iron Man 3’, ‘This Is The End’ & ‘The Hangover 3’ and those are the ones prior in the year I remember seeing but never did a quick review on. Why didn’t I? Well simply put I only just started the ‘legend’ (let me have that one for now lolz) that is Matt Gives You His Review and at that time the page to start off with was mainly focusing on movies that were out on DVD/Blu-Ray, that is until a certain fiasco that occurred which is explained on a different menu. It was after this fiasco that I went on a brief hiatus, I mean I thought Facebook was just going to stop me from ever posting anything on my page again, so I kinda just left the page to its own devices for a bit. I eventually came back however and had a thought, and that thought was; “I seem to watch a lot of movies at the cinemas nowadays. Why not instead of just doing a quick sentence on my Facebook saying whether I liked a movie (which was most of the time) or not (which was pre much never), why not do a quick sorta review on my review page and sorta direct the traffic (if any) there? Least this way the page is being used again”. And VIOLA! I was back doing these ‘quick’ reviews, all in the hope id be back to doing the sorta reviews I was doing before (see Older Movie Reviews to see what I mean). Years later and that hasn’t exactly happened again, and to be honest I kinda prefer talking about fresh movies that come out in cinemas, giving my quick thoughts so that someone can have a second opinion on a flick, so as is this type of review will stick. So, below and above in the drop menu you will find the first 8 movies that started off this new ‘quick’ review style of reviews. You can see as the style for these reviews will expand further on telling more of the flick being reviewed, rather then the quick paragraph where its kept rather vague and brief (im sure to ppls liking). As always like on the other pages here on this site you can comment below all your thoughts, questions, rants etc and if you were to be so kind as to share this on any and all social media sites i’d much appreciate it. Update:
So in the lil introductry paragraph i stated that while i had seen more movies than what i’ve posted here, I never did one due to, well me, Matt Gives You His Review, not exsisting prior to when i did start making reviews and what not. In fact even if i did, i was more focused on home viewing movies and not those at the cinemas. Years on however i got the thinking, “I can’t just leave like this. Why ot go back, look through the list of movies and actually review them to complete the year a bit more?”. And sure enough, running through the list i found 9 movies that i remembered for a fact that i went and saw at the movies, and as a treat to you, the moviegoing audience, i present here below those 9 belated movie reviews. Do these 9 movies shake up my thoughts of the year? Are there any here i find better ithan the offical movies i reviewed for 2013? Is this an excuse to just do more reviews on this site?
